This week’s class focused on learning about each other, building friendship and developing a team-like environment. Students practiced the basic capoeira movement called ginga and were introduced to movements such as aú, cocorinha, bananeira and carangueijo, which help develop reflexes and motor-coordination. We have lots of fun in capoeira class! Just take a look at the pictures below! - Côco
The group are learning the skill of following a conductor, and playing with different dynamics. Picking the scarf up tells the musicians to start playing; waving it high means 'play loud'; waving it low means 'play softly'. When the scarf is dropped everyone stops playing. This is a video of the band in action!
